We share our basic humanness. Listening with openness, learning from each other with willingness, and responding with care are the basis for fostering diversity and inclusivity.
There are so many ways we humans differ. In my life and work, I seek to learn and respond with intelligence and attunement to your situation. Gender-identity, sexual orientation, relationship style (monogamy, polyamory, etc.), culture, class, educational opportunity, language, religious affiliation, invisible disabilities, physical features including skin color, body type, and facial features can all influence how we see ourselves and each other. In our world, these visible and invisible differences, sadly, too often result in distance and discrimination.
As a result, we find ourselves internalizing oppressive patterns, acting them out unconsciously or holding ourselves back. Through coaching and/or counselling, I can help you become more aware of how difference is affecting you. Then, with new awareness, help you move toward changes you want to make, perhaps, taking action or empowering yourself more than before.
In August, 2021, James Sias, host of the Practicing Polyamory Podcast asked for a guest who could help him learn how to make a diversity and inclusivity space on his show for Black, Indigenous, and peoples of color (BIPOC).
